Homebox Modular

The german grow-tent manufacturer Eastside Impex goes the extra mile and offers a whole new grow tent system while sticking to their well-known and popular quality.

The Homebox Modular is on the market for only a short while now and even so all growing communities talk about it. For everybody who already knows the Classic Homebox and the Homebox Silver, and specialized products like the Clonebox recognizes the Homebox Modular as a simple and yet genius next step in the commodification of indoor growing.

Homebox Modular:

In addition to the existing Homeboxes in different sizes the Homebox Modular offers the opportunity to configure your very own shape for you grow tent. The basic modules offer a base of 1.20 x 1.20 meters and thus you can cover any layout for your growing area as long as it is a combination of squares with a sidelength of 1.20 meters.

You can configure rectangles, L-shapes and U-shapes and even irregular shapes or for example squares with a part missing (comes in handy if there is a door). This allows perfect utilisation of the room you've got. Maynbe you've got an empty room that just is to small or strangely shaped to use it as living space. Maybe there are no windows, or it is a room in the cellar or attic which would otherwise be wasted.

The height of the Homebox Modular is fixed to 2 meters. I.e. one module has roughly the size of the Classic Homebox XL. So if you are starting to grow and thinking about purchasing a Homebox XL it might be worth considering buying the Homebox Modular Basic Set which is fully expandable to bigger growing rooms if needed.

The Homebox Modular is as mobile and easy-to-setup as the common Homeboxes. If you're moving it's easy to dissassemble it and take it with you. The material naturally is of the same established and reliable high quality, too. Including durable zippers and openings for cables and hoses.

Here are some examples for typical Homebox Modular Setups. You can buy them as special priced sets and the manufacurers have given them the names of german cities to make it easier to remember and distinguish them:

Homebox Modular "Mainz": 1,2 x 3,6 meters, e.g. for setup alongside a wall or even in a corridor.

Homebox Modular "Berlin": 3,6 x 3,6 meters: Square setup, this saves quite some money for you don't need so many side parts.

Homebox Modular "Potsdam": 3,6 x 2,4 meters: e.g. for mounting in the corner of a room.

Homebox Modular "Mannheim": 3,6 x 3,6 meters: perfect in a quite big room with the door spared.

Homebox Modular "Leipzig": 4,8 x 2,4 meters: One of many examples for rectangular shapes. The Homebox Modular is perfect for the maximum utilisation of attic or cellar rooms.

How to build a Growing Tent

Those who try to grow plants indoors i.e. in their appartement for the first time realize very soon that it takes some knowledge and equipment to combine the needs of the inhabitants and the plants.

There are some issues at hand:

Smell, Heat and Consumed Air

Some plants smell and even if their smell isn't displeasant per se it is not pleasant to have it around you the whole day and night. This means you need a growing space that is airtight.

This confined space, however, is exposed to issues of heat an consumed air, so you will need a ventilation system and the growing room has to be designed to allow the installation of a fan and the removal of the consumed air.

Moisture and Dirt

Plants need soil and water or, if you decide to grow hydroponics, a solution of nutriments. This means your growing room should have a impermeable bottom to prevent dirt and water from percolating and damaging your carpet or floor boards. Also the growing room will contain warm and moist air which means you mustn't use materials that tend to mould - flake boards for example are cheap but quite the mold-magnet. They also tend to evaporate glue and synthetics which isn't good for the plants nor for the air in which - after all - you have to life. So it's best to use the right material.

Best price/performance ratio

The Homebox provides all these features and, if you want to do it right, there's even hardly a cheaper way to get your own grow room. The Homebox provides the means to suspend fans and filters, has got the apertures for the air tubes and power cables and consists of a light- and waterproof material to define a specific climate inside the box without affecting the athmosphere of your flat.
